"Spring BREAK" or "SPRING break"
A debate has been taking Dordt's campus by storm. Actually, just South View 208 and the 6 people I know at this college. It all started when I noticed Aaron saying spring break a little funny. I noticed that Aaron stresses "spring" instead of "break". After hearing it for a few weeks I decided to throw the issue on the table.
"Aaron," I said, "I think you say spring break funny."
This simple comment sparked a fire that took all of our 4 friends by surprise. Soon we were debating the proper way to say string cheese and a host of other two word combos.
Aaron reasoned, "I want people to know what break I'm talking about so I say SPRING break. Same with the cheese - what type of cheese? STRING cheese!"
Nice try Aaron. Regardless of your reasoning, you still sound funny.
