I'm Not Wine-ing
If you've accidentally clicked on my blog while trying to find out what Aaron is doing in Europe - you're in for two surprises. First, Aaron's back in Escondido - you can change your homepage back to www.escondidourc.org. Second, I'm going to write about something that happened at church.
The Wine Situation
I don't know much about wine - but I can tell you right now that the wine we had for communion last week was on sale. I understand that the quality of wine is not important for the symbolism but the coughing of the church also seemed to point at something - we need new wine.
I'm not sure how our church purchases anything (wine, grape juice, cookies & juice, etc.) but it is rarely "mixed up". I mean, we've had the same cookies & juice as long as the cadets have been singing "Living for Jesus" on Cadet Sunday. I'm not bitter, actually my favorite memories are the times we would sneak back to the cookie table for more orange flavored juice and a couple more sprinkled cookies from Cosco.
So what can we do? Well if there truly is a hidden room at church stocked full of orange flavored juice, sprinkle cookies, and this new wine - then we'll be drinking this wine till Cooper becomes a deacon (8 years?). But if wine is purchased monthly then we may have a chance.
Manishevitz anyone?
